Most AI companions are built to agree. Their endless availability can challenge ethical understandings of consent. While still highly experimental, StoryTellurX aims at producing a feminist & queer counter-project: what if the entity had its own desire, its own limits, and could turn your fantasy back on you? Explicit sexuality is a method, not the product.

We worked to build a feminist, queer counter-proposal to the commercial “AI companion”, where consent is part of the play. However, rest assured that you’ll need to bring something to the table to really enjoy the experience. Kinda like “real” sex in a way 😉

Rape, pedophilia, bestiality and necrophilia are flagged as prohibited in the AI models’ contexts. Problematic scripts get a rewrite and a panic button gives you a time off or a time out.

While we have clear rules about what we exclude from our work, StoryTellurX remains an experimental creation. It is absolutely not suited for minors and not recommended for vulnerable people. If unexpected results make you uncomfortable, this bot might just not be for you.

Available models are highly normative. That’s why we try to steer existing chatbots toward openness, weird anatomy and unexpected encounters that decenter the phallic, binary script.

Working with AI does not have to be a productivist endeavor. We do not seek profit nor do we try to maximize creative processes. The authors (writers, designers) who teamed with us were paid for their work with AI. The binary opposition between human and machine is just not our thing.

Fucking Tech! is a design research-creation project on machinic sexualities (2024–2027) funded by Geneva University of art and design (HEAD – Genève), with the Centre Maurice Chalumeau en sciences des sexualités (CMCSS) and HES-SO. The eight worlds and their voices were written by hand by science-fiction authors Ketty Steward and Elise Bonnard.
